In het jaarlijks terugkerende Club Guy & Roni Invites nodigt internationaal dansgezelschap Club Guy & Roni veel belovende makers uit. Na Kwame Asafo-Adjei, Dunja Jocic, Lunatics & Poets en Mohamed Yusuf Boss is het de beurt aan de Finse choreograaf Cecilia Moisio én zangeres en actrice Sarah Janneh die een betoverend voorprogramma zingt.
ADI(C)SCO is een schijnbaar oneindige danstrip op zoek naar de roes, naar alsmaar doorgaan en daarin jezelf verliezen: ofwel verslaving. De voorstelling ademt dan ook de sfeer van de disco-era, waarin de clubscene en ook clubdrugs populair werden. ADI(C)SCO is een feest dat uit de hand loopt en nooit eindigt. Met jaren ’70-esthetiek, extravagante personages en opzwepende beats. Cecilia wil met deze voorstelling de taboes en schaamte rondom verslaving aankaarten. Moisio zelf groeide op met een alcoholistische vader en heeft dus daarom een sterke persoonlijke motivatie om deze thematiek bespreekbaar maken.

Op 14 mei organiseert Cecilia Moisio Company een speciaal contextprogramma rond ADI(C)SCO in Theater Bellevue. We beginnen met de vertoning van de ADI(C)SCO documentaire van Paul Sixta. Na afloop is er een nagesprek met de choreograaf en regisseur Cecilia Moisio en haar dansers. Op deze avond kun je volledig onderdompelen in de wereld van ADI(C)SCO en deelnemen aan het gesprek over verslaving.

In the annual Club Guy & Roni Invites event, international dance company Club Guy & Roni works with up-and-coming artists. This year, after Kwame Asafo-Adjei, Dunja Jocic, Lunatics & Poets, and Mohamed Yusuf Boss, it’s the turn of Finnish-born choreographer Cecilia Moisio. Singer and actor Sarah Janneh provides a captivating vocal prelude.

ADI(C)SCO is a dance trip in search of the ultimate high, one that keeps going until you’re lost in your addiction. The performance is deeply rooted in the disco era and its drug culture, a party that gets out of hand and never ends.
With its 1970s aesthetic, extravagant personalities, and electrifying beats, Moisio’s performance highlights the taboos and shame surrounding addiction. She grew up with an alcoholic father, so she has strong personal reasons for putting this issue on the map.

On May 14th, Cecilia Moisio Company organizes a special context program around ADI(C)SCO at Theater Bellevue. We start with the screening of the ADI(C)SCO documentary by Paul Sixta. Afterwards, there will be an after-talk with the choreographer and director Cecilia Moisio and her dancers. During this evening, you can fully immerse yourself in the world of ADI(C)SCO and participate in the conversation about addiction.

Cecilia Moisio wordt gezien als één van de meest eclectische makers van ons land en ontving hiervoor de Prijs van de Nederlandse dansdagen - Jong Publiek. Moisio maakt activistisch, expressief, theatraal werk over urgente thema’s. Zo maakte ze met Club Guy & Roni’s Poetic Disasters Club (junior company) de prikkelende, sensuele en ‘in your face’-voorstelling over de vulva ‘V’ een absolute festivalhit op De Parade. ADI(C)SCO van Cecilia Moisio is een schijnbaar oneindige danstrip op zoek naar de roes, naar alsmaar doorgaan en daarin jezelf verliezen: ofwel verslaving (addiction).
Sarah Janneh is actrice en zangeres en sinds 2021 vast ensemble-lid van NITE (Nationaal Theater Ensemble). In de grote interdisciplinaire voorstellingen van NITE hebben we Janneh al kunnen horen zingen. Voor Club Guy & Roni invites maakt zij nu haar eerste solo liedjes-programma.
Cecilia Moisio is one of the Netherlands’ most eclectic directors and choreographers, and a winner of the Prijs van de Nederlandse Dansdagen young audience award. She makes expressively theatrical pieces on key contemporary issues. Her thrillingly sensual, in-your-face performance about the vulva, V, produced in collaboration with Club Guy & Roni’s Poetic Disasters Club (junior company), was a smash hit at the De Parade festival.
Sarah Janneh has been a member of NITE (Nationaal Interdisciplinair Theater Ensemble) since 2021. We’ve already heard her singing in NITE’s large-scale interdisciplinary performances, and now she stages her first solo song programme for Club Guy & Roni Invites.
