Starting a revolution/Looking for love

We are heroes!/What is revolution actually?
Now for real. Seriously!
Everything gets dirty
This is the end?

Starting a revolution/Looking for love
We are heroes!/What is revolution actually?
Now for real. Seriously!
Everything gets dirty
This is the end?

A situation young persons face time and again: How to rid yourself of a task you are not convinced of? How to fight a winning battle as a group of young artists, and how to achieve a result? Revolution, then what? And love? The quest, the humour, the desperation, dreams and mutual understanding also illustrate how a young generation deals with the political burdens of our world: unequal pay, refugees, world climate, capitalism, terrorism.

In our time, the development of plays is an important ingredient of post-dramatic theatre. A theatre evening where there is no fixed play pattern, a theatre evening that lays claim to collective authorship requires that the actors do not 'just' assume a single role. 'Liveness' is a key element of the evening, it integrates the biographies and the desires of the actors and reveals the artistic process of creation as well as the underlying artistic attitude. Self-reflectively and full of relish, popular media are incorporated. Interest in the real world / politics is formulated.

The performance is a cross-national project of the theatre institutes of the University of Music and Performing Arts of Graz and ArtEZ Toneelschool, Arnhem. It was sponsored from the Erasmus+ budget of the EU within the concept of Erasmus+ student mobility. Five students from Graz travelled to the Netherlands in April to work together with their colleagues from Arnhem while three students from Arnhem worked with their student colleagues from Graz. Each group developed one play, multilingualism on stage is intended.
