Knot on Hands speelt met de (on)mogelijkheden van partneracrobatiek in een hypnotiserende bewegingstaal. Met een ‘Cyrwheel’ zonder schroeven verandert Fenja Barteldres de ronde ring tot een compleet nieuw apparaat. Great Catch nodigt je uit om de vele gezichten van het circus te ontdekken. House of Circus mixt circus en drag en is daarin een pionier. Met veel glitter raken ze kwetsbare thema’s aan rond zelfexpressie, kracht en genderidentiteit. In SPOTLIGHT werpen ze al hun circusvaardigheden in de strijd om die felbegeerde plek in de schijnwerpers op te eisen. Dit streven naar perfectie gaat niet zonder twijfel en blauwe plekken, maar wel met veel humor, make-up en show. Laat je leiden door deze circusqueens en laat komen wat komt.

Het innovatieve trio Knot on Hands creëert een pure en hypnotiserende bewegingstaal met duizelingwekkend veel acrobatische vondsten. Ze bevragen (on)mogelijkheden, zien de ruimte als een dynamische medespeler en gooien rollen (ook tussen man en vrouw) om. Ze werken vanuit de drang om te blijven ontdekken en vinden met hun drie lichamen altijd een nieuw spoor. Voor Great Catch maken ze een nieuw kort werk met elementen uit hun voorstellingen Brace for Impact, Concrete en Passing by.

Fenja Barteldres gebruikt haar Cyrwheel op een bijzondere manier: zonder schroeven. Hierdoor wordt de ronde ring een compleet ander apparaat: wiebelig en onstabiel, soms vreemd gebogen, dan weer behendig als een slang of uiteengevallen in losse delen. In Cyrrealism ontvouwt zich vanuit één metalen wiel een hele wereld waarin Fenja zichzelf telkens opnieuw moet uitvinden. Een poëtische metafoor over de imperfecties van het leven.

In Cyrrealism, a whole world unfolds from a single metal wheel, forcing Fenja to continuously reinvent herself. A poetic metaphor about the imperfections of life.
