No Dreams, No Gold

In 2019 maakten Ingrid en Lasse de voorstelling Panflutes and paperwork. Sinds de première is de voorstelling in heel Europa te zien geweest, en beschreven als een “voorstelling die met niets te vergelijken is”. No Dreams, No Gold is hun volgende podiumproductie en neemt vertrouwen en moed als thematische uitgangspunten voor de voorstelling. 

Lasse Passage is componist en muzikant. Ingrid Berger Myhre is choreograaf en danseres. Wanneer ze samenwerken is het belangrijk om de verwachtingen ten opzichte van hun eigen disciplines te ontrafelen. Ze hebben verschillende ervaringen en perspectieven, maar delen de ruimte van onderhandeling die ontstaat wanneer ze elkaar ontmoeten in de periferie van hun eigen expertise. Hun
samenwerking gaat daarom over het vinden van nieuwe manieren om een werksituatie te articuleren: waar beiden als gelijkwaardige spelers opereren, zonder hetzelfde te hoeven zijn.

De vriendschap van Ingrid en Lasse is een intrinsiek onderdeel van hun artistieke materiaal, waar ze het publiek royaal toegang toe geven. Hun werk is zeer persoonlijk maar toch down to earth, en gaat over de onderhandeling over verschillen die nodig zijn om ergens samen in te zijn in iets. Met warmte en humor onderzoeken ze de conventies in de podiumkunsten om meer te leren over wat een choreografische taal kan bevatten.

Lasse Passage is a composer and a musician. Ingrid Berger Myhre is a choreographer and a dancer. When they work together it is o!en to unpack expectations towards their own disciplines. They have different experience and perspective, but share the space of negotiation that arise when meeting in the periphery of their own expertise. Their collaboration is therefore a lot about finding new ways to articulate a working situation: where both operate as equal players, without having to be the same. 

In 2019 Ingrid and Lasse made the performance Panflutes and Paperwork. Since the premiere at Theater Rotterdam it has been shown all over Europe, and has been described as an “unpretentious and wonderfully playful duo”, “a party to watch”, “captivatingly lightfooted” and a “performance that is unlike anything else”. No Dreams, No Gold is their next stage production and takes trust and courage as thematic starting points for the performance. When does courageous amateurism become naive bravery? Can the promise of trust be an encouragement to fail confidently? 

Ingrid and Lasse’s friendship is an intrinsic part of their artistic material, which they give the audience generous access to. Their work is highly personal yet down to earth, and talks about the negotiation of differences required to be together in something. With warmth and humor they contemplate the conventions in the performing arts, in order to learn more about what a choreographic language can contain.
