Na het bekroonde 11 3 8 7 (Best of Amsterdam Fringe 2023, NRC top 5 beste voorstellingen van 2023-2024) duikt Xx-63 dieper de krochten in van verlangen, verleiding en hedendaags escapisme. Het resultaat is een zinderende performance waar dans, beeld, theater en elektronische soundscapes samensmelten tot een dystopisch droomlandschap – verontrustend, sensueel en overrompelend. De choreografie flirt met spanning in al haar seksuele lading, doordrenkt met een wrang gevoel van onbehagen.
Geïnspireerd door clubcultuur en gevoed door een urgente woede, verkennen de performers hoe lichamen reageren op een wereld die continu prikkelt, verleidt en consumeert. In Xx-63 is het kapitalistische lichaam geen heilige plek, maar een verlaten winkelcentrum: volgestouwd met resten van consumentencultuur, synthetische chemicaliën en seksueel geladen beelden. Hier is angst geen abstractie, maar een fysieke staat – iets dat kruipt, wringt en zich vastbijt.
De performers schrapen aan de glanzende oppervlakte van de stedelijke hyperrealiteit en leggen de verontrustende onderstromen bloot. Clichés en symbolen worden vervormd tot sensuele, wrange vormen; wat ontstaat is een spiegel van een grotesk en verward heden.
Trevoga, onder aanvoering van Sandberg x SNDO-alumna Neda Ruzheva, is een chaotisch kruispunt van hoopfanatici, doemdenkers en emotionele buitenstaanders. Wat hen bindt, is de radicale keuze om stress en spanning niet te onderdrukken, maar te belichamen. Het podium wordt dissectietafel: hier ontleden ze zichzelf als symptomen van een tijd die verslaafd is aan instant kicks, en herdefiniëren ze de toekomst als iets rauws, levends en onvoorspelbaars – een toestand die het waard is om wakker van te liggen.
Xx-63 is geen voorstelling om achterover te leunen. Het is een zintuiglijke aanval. Een trip. Een dans op de rand van het systeem.

With their new performance Xx-63, they dive into the world of desire, temptation, and the darker side of modern escapism.
In 2023, Trevoga’s debut 11 3 8 7 — co-produced by ICK Amsterdam and One Dance Bulgaria — was named Best of Amsterdam Fringe Festival. On top of that, Dutch newspaper NRC selected the work as one of the top five performances of the 2023–2024 season. 11 3 8 7 powerfully exposed the clash between slick online image culture and gritty reality. With Xx-63, Trevoga continues that exploration — boundary-pushing, uncompromising, and with total commitment.
This new performance explores the world of desire and how it is shaped by the systems that surround us. Dance, theatre, visual art, and electronic music merge into a hypnotic spectacle of intoxication, seduction, and monstrous fantasies. The choreography — deeply rooted in club culture — flirts with tension in all its sexual charge.
The members of the Amsterdam-based Trevoga collective — Bulgarian Neda Ruzheva, Russian Antonina Pushkareva, and Lithuanians Erikas Žilaitis and Dovile Krutulyte — grew up in post-Soviet societies, balancing the moral dogmas of a vanished past with the seductive pull of contemporary consumer culture. This tension fuels their work: a sharp, playful mix of pop culture and ‘high art’, steeped in a bitter sense of unease.
For Trevoga, the capitalist body is no temple — it’s an abandoned shopping mall, filled with seductive imagery left behind. The collective exposes the darker sides of our gleaming, tech-driven world, holding up a mirror that is both disorienting and provocative.
The Hague-based art duo Alagya designed a futuristic stage environment that challenges the performers and pulls the audience into their world. The soundtrack is by Sueuga, a music producer known for sonic installations at MASS MoCA and Café Oto. Sueuga is also the founder of glossed, a transqueer+ club night where experimental beats and underground culture collide.
