Blackbird - Rebirth

In een interdisciplinaire voorstelling laat theatermaker Hendrik Aerts samen met de violiste Diamanda Dramm de stem van zowel de doden als de nabestaanden spreken. Niet alleen de rouwenden, ook de gestorvenen leren afscheid nemen. Wat volgt is een rollercoaster van boosheid en verdriet, een zoektocht naar troost en mogelijkheden. Blackbird - Rebirth is een voorstelling over verlies, achterblijven en opnieuw beginnen. 

De voorstelling is deels Nederlands, deels Engels met boventitels.

The shows at wed. november 4th will be played

People have died and their death was gruesome. Blackbird – Rebirth was inspired by the brutal murder of Dutch actress Linda Olthof and her six-year-old son Jimmy, in New York in 2018. In an interdisciplinary performance, theatre maker Hendrik Aerts, together with violinist Diamanda Dramm, gives voice to both the dead and those they left behind. It’s not just the mourners who learn to say farewell, but also those who died. What ensues is a rollercoaster ride jolting through anger and sadness, in a quest for solace and opportunities. Blackbird – Rebirth is a performance about loss, being left behind and starting anew. The performance is highly visual in nature, using poetry to transport the audience to their own imagination and remembrance. Words, images, sounds, light, music, dance and the body merge into emotionally comprehensible theatrical expression. The composition for violin, vocals and computer was created especially for Blackbird – Rebirth and is performed live.
