Choreograaf Astrid Boons blijft imponeren met haar sculpturale benadering van dans, die diep onder de huid kruipt. Gedreven door existentiële vraagstukken verweeft ze filosofische en emotionele lagen tot een eigen fysieke taal. In haar nieuwe drieluik onderzoekt Boons wat het betekent om mens te zijn in een steeds digitaler tijdperk. Ze nodigt ons uit om opnieuw contact te maken met ons lichaam en na te denken over hoe we willen en kunnen (samen)leven.

Waar het eerste hoofdstuk KHÔRA filosofeert over een nieuwe postmenselijke wereld, verkent Deep Time de grenzen van ons aanpassingsvermogen in dit parallelle universum. Via shapeshifting gebruiken drie performers natuurlijke elementen uit hun nieuwe omgeving om te overleven. In deze transformaties herdefiniëren ze zowel hun identiteit als de onderlinge verbindingen. Boons werpt een intrigerende vraag op: is ons aanpassingsvermogen eindig? En wat betekent dit vermogen om te muteren voor ons mens-zijn? Deep Time is een fysieke reis die ons uitnodigt om na te denken over de evolutie van de mensheid.

Choreographer Astrid Boons continues to impress with her sculptural approach to dance, which deeply resonates on a visceral level. Driven by existential questions, she weaves philosophical and emotional layers into a physical language of her own. In her new triptych, of which Deep Time is the second part, Boons explores what it means to be human in an increasingly digital age. She invites us to reconnect with our bodies and reflect on how we want - and are able - to live and (co)exist.

While the first chapter, KHÔRA, contemplates a new post-human world, Deep Time explores the boundaries of our adaptability in this parallel universe. Through shapeshifting, three performers use natural elements from their new environment to survive. In these transformations, they redefine both their identities and the connections between them. Boons raises an intriguing question: is our ability to adapt finite? And what does this ability to transform and mutate mean for our humanity? Deep Time is a physical journey that invites us to reflect on the evolution of humankind.
