This is not a circus

This is not a circus is een jaarlijks festival van TENT huis voor hedendaags circus in samenwerking met Theater Bellevue. Het festival voor nieuwe circusvormen richt zich op een (jong)volwassen publiek en professionals, matinees zijn ook geschikt voor families. Het festival zet in met A Day at the Circus, dag voor professionals en elk jaar presenteert een maker de Staat van het Nederlands circus.

This is not a circus wordt ondersteund door Keep an Eye Foundation, Fonds Podiumkunsten, Amsterdams Fonds voor de kunst en wordt mede mogelijk gemaakt door Young Art Support Amsterdam.

Discover new circus forms from the Netherlands and experience the WOW of circus! The third edition of This is not a circus, November 30 to December 3, puts acrobatics in the spotlight. Two, three, or as many as six acrobats perform movement stories that go beyond virtuosity alone. With athletic skills, they make you feel the pulse all the way to your toes, create a kaleidoscopic world, or move you when their power is fading. Circus fuses with dance, visual art, or stand-up. With guts, humor and a bit of danger, a new generation of circus makers brings irresistible circus to Amsterdam.

This is not a circus is an annual festival by TENT house for contemporary circus in collaboration with Theater Bellevue. The festival for new forms of circus focuses on (young) adult audiences and professionals, matinees are also for families. The festival kicks off with A Day at the Circus, day for professionals and each year a maker presents the State of Dutch Circus.
