Van muzikaal duet naar maniakale performance: zie hoe een generatie nieuwe makers de grenzen van dans moeiteloos oprekt.

Twee dansvoorstellingen op vrijdag 24 mei zoals je het niet eerder zag. In het visueel spetterend en muzikale rockconcert Choreopop van Jesús de Vega en Chai Blaq worden lichaam en stem onafscheidelijk. En vervreemding in Die Verwandlung. In deze nieuwe voorstelling van Sophie Mayeux duiken de karakters in de diepte van een onbekend universum, terug naar het begin van de wereld. Vraag na afloop de choreografen het hemd van het lijf tijdens het nagesprek.

Vooraf aan het programma wordt de passant in het Centraal Station en op locatie in de stad alvast in de stemming gebracht met wervelende dansacts van onder meer CHRONOS en Junadry Leocaria op het Centraal Station, Leidseplein en in Theater Bellevue, gedanst door respectievelijk studenten van de Academie voor Theater en Dans en scholieren van het Bredero College.

Het meest spraakmakende werk van vijf landelijke productiehuizen bijeengebracht in één reizend festival.

Musician Chai Blaq and choreographer Jesús de Vega collaborate in this multidisciplinary project with the aim of merging two disciplines and their creative processes. They both find inspiration in things that seem broken: society, relationships, climate, bodies. Die Verwandlung – Sophie Mayeux
After the short version of Die Verwandlung, inspired by the book of Franz Kafka, Sophie Mayeux explores in a new performance the evolutionary process of the species, starting from the creation of the first landscapes and seascapes to post-human creatures. In 2016 she won the Choreography Award for the short version of Die Verwandlung. concept, direction Sophie Mayeux dance Hellen Boyko, Simon Caillaud, Léo Lequeuche composer Kaspar Föhres scenography Cecilia Borettaz lighting, Set Design Rob Daanen graphic conception Anne-Emilie Philippe production De Nieuwe Oost & Company Matecznik.
