Chasing the [Blank]

Chasing the [Blank] legt het contrast bloot tussen bewust zijn en onbewust zijn. De bewustwording van dat er geen eindpunt bestaat. De realisatie dat je vrij kunt komen van de druk van het constante zoeken.

Choreograaf Zino Schat draagt bij aan de evolutie van hiphop, een nog jonge cultuur uit de straat ontstaan vanuit onderdrukking. Door de deuren te openen tussen hedendaagse dans en breaking, worden vernieuwende mengvormen geboren die het slechts tegenover elkaar plaatsen van twee dansstijlen overstijgen. Een uitnodiging naar een esthetische wereld met een zowel krachtige als kwetsbare bewegingstaal die de kijker en performer verbindt.

The realisation that one can be free of the pressure of constant searching. Chasing the [Blank] explores the human urge to constantly be in search. Four individuals continiously strive for peace of mind, happiness and security. By submitting completely to the knowledge that this process will never end, they question the motive of their search.

Chasing the [Blank] exposes the contrast between being conscious and unconscious. The awareness that there is no ending. The realisation that one can be free of the pressure of constant searching. 

Choreographer Zino Schat contributes to the evolution of hip-hop, a still young culture arising from the street out of repression. By opening doors between contemporary dance and breaking, innovative forms are born that transcend the mere juxtapositioning  of two dance styles. An invitation to an aesthetic world with a powerful and vulnerable movement language that connects spectator and performer.
